Still in The States

Hey, everybody. I'm still in the States right now, but that's soon to change. On September 18th I board a plane in Portland to begin my two-and-a-half-day trip to Japan. I'll be stopping overnight in Norfolk on the way. I wanted to get this up and going to prove that I really was going to write a blog. However, don't be surprised if it's a week before I update. I will not have internet for the first day or so in the new apartment.

This blog is mostly a way for my friends and family to keep track of me. I plan to have pictures, and maybe eventually video, of all the adventures I have over there. I've also promised a certain friend that I will post some of the really bad Japanese to English translations I find around. I hope you all have half as much fun reading this as I plan to have doing all this stuff.

I'll leave you today with a quote from Vincent Van Gogh. "I am not an adventurer by choice but by fate." ... But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy it.
